China National Machinery Industry Co (Sinomach) was honored as an “honorary citizen” in Lekie, Cameroon, on May 25, for its contribution to the country’s development.

A water treatment plant constructed by Sinomach has solved a serious drinking water problem in Lekie, according to the chief of the local government.

During construction of the plant, Sinomach also organized several charity activities, such as free medical consultations and treatment, to help promote living standards for local residents.

At the awards ceremony, Sinomach donated an assortment of equipment, including desks, chairs, dustbins and tricycles, to the Lekie government. A Chinese medical team also provided free consultations and medicines for local residents.
