Liu Jingzhen, deputy general manager of Sinomach, visited a national grid development and renovation project in the Cote d'Ivoire from July 5 to 8.

During the trip, he learnt about the project’s current state of development and gave his instructions for future work, particularly in terms of quality, progress, and work safety.

He also attended a ceremony marking the start of construction work on the project on July 7, where he expressed his hope that the project would help improve the living standards of local residents and contribute to strengthening the partnership between China and Cote d'Ivoire.

The project is being sponsored by the country’s Ministry Of Petroleum, Energy and Development of Renewable Energies, with Sinomach and China National Electric Engineering Co working as contractors.

It includes the construction and renovation of power lines, transformer substations and electric power grids in 500 villages. The construction period will last 43 months, with a contract value of $818 million.
